Expect to see a lot of movies on this site.
Garry and Mike have the Aiptek DV2 cameras, and are having
a ball shooting videos.
You might want to check out the Aiptek website,
http://www.aiptek.com and click on 'great deals' under the Clearance Sidebar. They
still offer the DV2 for $34.99 plus shipping and handling. It has both optical viewer and a 1.4" flip-out
color LCD screen. The camera will take still photos, movies with sound, can be used as a video camera with your computer
while on the internet, and as a voice recorder.
(This camera chews up and spits out alkaline batteries
very quickly. Rechargeable Nickel Hydride batteries work very well. Using a pair of Nickel Hydrides rated at 1800
mAh [Walmart - about $6 for four] I've taken more than 75 still photos and more than an hour of video (3 vids longer
than 20 minutes continuous shooting), and they still don't need re-charging. If you purchase this type of battery, I
recommend purchasing the Ray-O-Vac charger. It's black, about the size of a brick, costs about $20 at Walmart, and will
charge 4 pair of AAA,AA's, or 4 C or D size. I have several of the lower-priced small chargers and they just don't do
the job as well.
Also, use with a compact flash card with the Aiptek.
If a CF card is inserted, there is no battery power used for holding information on the camera's internal memory).
Why the Aiptek? 1. Great closeout price. 2. Easy
